Essential Weekly Prayer challenge

JOIN US

Each week we’ll focus on a short passage of scripture and use it to focus our prayers for our church to follow God’s will into this new chapter of our service to Him, and discover ways to reach our community.

We’re seeking God’s leadership in our search for an interim pastor & a permanent pastor thereafter.

What we’re asking you to do, is pray and meditate on the weekly passage.

Each day we’ll focus on a specific phrase to pray about.

Use the acrostic P.R.A.Y. to guide you.

P- Praise God and His redemptive plan for our lives.

R- Reflect on all His blessings- past, present, future.

A- Ask God for guidance for the pastoral search & for ways to build relationships with our community.

Y- Yearly focus for God’s will for our church, including to “Be still and know that I am God.”

This week’s Scripture:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and he with Me…He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

(Revelation 3: 20,22)

Sunday: Use the weekly prayer guide to and mediate on how God might use them to speak to His church.

Monday: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock”- What does this verse tell us about Christ and his relationship with us and our (church)?

Tuesday: “Hears My Voice and opens the door”- What are the two requirements of us (and our church) to Christ’s knocking on our door (heart)?

Wednesday: “I will come in to dine with him, and he with Me”- How does a church “dine” with Christ? Why is it important for our church to dine with Christ during this interim time?

Thursday: “He who has an ear, let him hear” - What is the difference between “hearing” Christ’s voice and just being aware of background noises of the world. How can a church be sure to hear (and act) whenever Christ does speak to our church?

Friday: “What the Spirit says to the churches” - How do we as a church prepare to hear what the Spirit says? Pray for God to help us quiet our hearts, hear and feel His guidance, and to have the courage needed to act in this new chapter.

Saturday: Meditate and pray for the entire verse. “Be still and know that He is God.”
